Stay tuned for tomorrow!

It’s a great predicament to be in haha. Corals look great, are they a mushroom and ricordea?

I’ve not got them yet, just waiting to find the right ones

Let the fun begin, oh plus the nagging from the other half haha.

I was refunded £20 from a fish store yesterday as they had a free shipping offer on but mistakenly charged me the £20. They said add something from their site so I chose a Red Dwarf Holly Favite.

Oh I bought another fish as I’ve been after this fish for approx a month and they sell out so quickly.

Yes. I'm trying to find out what the orange mushroom is so I know if I can place close together or not. But I think the color matches well. Will be great to add.

What fish did you get?

Can’t go wrong with orange in the tank. Let me know what mushroom it is when you find out as may put some in my reef.

It’s my sons favourite colour hence me putting 5 blue eyed Lyretail Anthias in on Friday.

I’m getting a red line wrasse

Haha you've gone for a tio of invasive corals. However, who cares they look awesome. I'm really thinking about getting an invasive clove as they're beautiful. Its great the gf went with you though.

I've just noticed that I've got a little coral hitchhiker on the back of one of my new trachys.... I've not made a decision what to do with it yet.

Well upon further inspection the Xenia has a small apistaia on it. So it's in a cup hopefully I can get it scraped off and glue the Xenia to the rick. They are attached to a candy cane coral also. I am about to get glue and try to move everything into the tank and it survive a night in a cup. Ugh.

That’s annoying, good idea scrape it off. Can you use more of the glue or a little putty to cover the area where the Aiptasia was. That way you’ll be certain the bugger has been covered and killed.

Good luck with it all

Least you now know not to go back there. I struggle to find many fish stores that don’t have Aiptasia. Fingers crossed the extra glue will cover it and no more show up

Yes I will not be getting corals from that store again. Hopefully I got it all off and glued the spot well. Now to find a lower flow spot for these Xenia to be able to pulse some. Have a new controller for the wave makers coming today will turn flow down a little when it arrives

So scraped off the apistia glued the spot. Placed the candy cane coral. And set my Xenia rock. Unfortunately my tank is heavy blue in pictures but here's my placement. The cardinal is still trying to figure out the amount of flow in the tank spends alot of time in the corner

The dreaded blue photos, its such a pain. I've started taking pics through some orange lensed glasses i have haha.

Looking good, did you want the xenia to spread up the glass too? If not just keep an eye on it and scrape it off.

Some have electric green GSP growing on their back wall that can look lovely.

Yes I'm hoping to have the Xenia grow up the glass. I'm probably going to move it to the back corner though. Idk I have to place the new corals and go from there. I need some orange and yellow lenses for pictures.

Good question, I am unsure but I do know the clove coral will grow pretty quickly.

You have to decide whether you buy a frag or colony, both have pros and cons. I’ve bought both to date but will enjoy them all growing.

I’ve just bought my 3rd Goniopora haha. No more I keep telling myself

Most will grow pretty slowly. Besides the cloves Xenia and zoa's grow pretty quickly. My mushrooms are expanding over the plug in a week but will probably take months to actually get sizably bigger.

Water change today. Decided to move around one of my islands. Moved my Duncan into the sand and closer to viewing area and it's open more than ever. A few updated shots. Ignore the pictures still learning how to take them

Your new CUC will start to work on your diatoms in no time

It’ll be in the sand bed hiding. You’ll see it’s little ‘straw like trunk’ sticking out the sand. If not it’ll come out like an undead zombie when you add food in the tank

I got my CUC from reefcleaners as well and I chose the snails only pack for a 75g. I got over 110 snails! But, some of them are really tiny and some big ones.

For Nassarius snails, they typically come out when you feed the tank.

Yea I haven't seen my nassarius. He usually only comes out at night. I don't have much food make it to the sand especially when the pumps turn back on it is picked off the sand.

I didn't want a large cuc so none die hopefully. So I'm buying them as my algea stages come. Now is sand Diatoms and rock. Once sand is clear I'll add a couple more rock cleaners. Then onto hair algea crew.

My snails have been doing fine for 2 months with no losses thankfully. Your plan for stocking CUC is much safer and smarter though!

I'm going into this with alot of research. I researched every aspect of the tank. Started with rock substrate water. Then learned sumps filtration and lights. Next was cycle clean up crew fish and corals. I am not afraid of research lol. My only thing I did wrong even though I have the copper and copper checker was qt fish
