What's YOUR aquarium lie?

I won't feed my begging angelfish more food today.... Every time I walk by they rush to the side of the tank and start begging for food at the water surface. And I sometimes cave...

YES, this is my biggest one. But I've altered the lie now to "I will only keep 3"

 

That my Common Pleco is ok in my 10gallong (Ikik)

You and me both, I got about 2 pieces of duckweed in my tank and I swear that stuff multiplies over night! I see one piece today and about 25 tomorrow morning -_-

I definitely don't want to feed my Pleco another pellet cuz he looks so derpy eating one

There are lies we all tell ourselves (and our spouses or parents) about this hobby - what's yours?

Mine is "THAT was definitely the last piece of duckweed. I've totally eradicated it this time."

Mine isn't a lie because I meant it when I said it. Asked my parents for a five gallon back when I didn't have a tank and told them it would be my only one... NOPE I have the 5 has a hospital tank now and have a 10, and 20, gallon and have plans for a few racks with maybe 3 10gals, two 40gal breeders, 4-5 20gal longs, one 75, and a 300gal... So haha it's definitely not what they thought when buying me a tank for my birthday.

 

My current lie is i tell myself i don't want to take them when we move...and also tell myself how boring life would be without all my tetras!

Tetras are awesome because they have a very simple and repeatable pattern of behavior, but makes perfect sense. Fish sense. Life is good.

Right. Which is about as long as it takes for me not to have a plant unstuck and floating every time I walk up to the tank.
