Why did you start keeping fish?
I come from a family of aquarists. My dad's father kept guppies and tiger barbs while my dad was a kid (not together), my mom kept bettas. Before I was born my parents had community tanks. I was around four or five when they bought a 20 high for my twin sister and I. The hobby didn't stick with her but I've been doing this for over fifteen years now.

What was your first fish? Do you regret it?
My first fish were a pair of bleeding heart tetras that my sister picked. I don't regret the choice but I do regret how they were cared for. Uncycled tank, improper school size, they didn't last very long.

How long have you been keeping fish?
Sixteen or seventeen years.

Do your fish head bang with you or hide?
They better headbang! I once had a pair of Aphyosemion australe in my practice space and they didn't seem to mind too much.

What is your favorite and least favorite fish and why?
Colombian tetras kind of fill both of those roles for me... On one hand, I've never been so successful at keeping fish like them. I had multiple specimens that lived well over the five year life expectancy for me, one hit eight even. But they have proven to be really unpredictable with tankmates. I recently had my remaining few kill a pair of golden wonder killies.

If you were stranded alone on an island what book would you want with you?
Some kind of stargazing guide. May as well make the best of my time there.

What is your favorite beverage (non alcoholic)
Pepsi.

What is your favorite food/snack?
I love cheese. Blocks, slices, grilled, in liquidy sauce form, it doesn't matter.

If you were to meet one famous person who would it be and why?
Not sure how famous he is but I'd probably go with Tony Iommi, the guitarist for Black Sabbath. He is single handedly responsible for everything that's ever happened in metal so I'd love to pick his brain.

If you were to meet one fictional character who would it be and why?
Plo Koon, the greatest Jedi Master ever. If you know Plo you know that there's no explanation needed.

What is your favorite color?
Either black or really deep and dark blue/purple.

What is your favorite season and why?
Summer. I like the heat.

What are your bug out plans for the zombie apocalypse?
Isolate myself, get away from large groups of people. Know that death could come whenever and accept it when my time comes. Don't want to be around too long in that kind of situation, personally.

What are your future tank plans?
Figuring out what to put in my 20 long with my male Poecilia mexicana, Franklin. I want to try a betta with some chili rasboras as I've never done a betta in a community before. Other than that, dwarf cichlids are a big thing for me. I've already kept laetacara curviceps, keyholes, and German rams. I can see more livebearers in my future, especially more wild type mollies/swords and guppies. Maybe dabble in killies again. Obviously not all in the same tank, haha.

Get back to a fish I had in my childhood as well, glowlight tetras. I have a lot of plans...

Fish, for obvious reasons!

Cats. I'm allergic.

Mexican food. Indian is up there as well.

Do You Have Any Pets Other Than Fish? What Are They?
I had to move back in with the parents during the pandemic so I live with their beagle.

How Did You Get Into The Fish Keeping Hobby?
Explained in my first post but here's the TL;DR. I come from a family of aquarists, was introduced at an early age and have always had fish since.

Have You Been Outside Of The USA? If So, Where?
Never been outside the US.
