White string hanging from betta

Help! I got a new betta a couple months ago. She had a white string like thing coming out of her that I assumed was something to do with her eggs or poop (she has had many white egg spots, first female betta) but right now she has a string with a red ball like thing on the end of it. I think its a parasite?? It doesn't appear to be moving, just flowing in water as she swims. She looks very healthy, active otherwise. She is not as interested in food as she was, but ate today. The past two days however she spit most out. What to do?

Are these photos of the betta visible? Her tank parameters are fine, I don't know what is the best treatment if this is a parasite. I just have never seen poop like this

Welcome to FishLore!
Looks like poop to me. She was probably a little stopped up, that's what the bulbous thing is.
The rest is her passing what was not able to get through before.

Thank you! I'm fine with poop. That makes me feel a lot better, my other betta never had stringy stuff like this

:) You're welcome! That's just my opinion, let's see if others agree or have other ideas.

Yeah, my guess is it was a blockage of some sorts. Might try varying up the food selection a little bit, might be more willing to eat when you feed as well!

Thank you and yes she has always been happy to eat until those couple days. Usually feed her bug bites crumbles. I will look into getting that daphina (spelling) and see if they have at the fish stores maybe start giving them frozen food some as well. Thanks again. I am relieved bc some people on a fb group today said they it was a parasite will come back to this forum more often lol

I will tell you petsmart and petco generally do not carry daphnia, but usually can find frozen bloodworma and brine shrimp. One of the local fish stores will likely have daphnia though. Seems to do a decent job of keeping my bettas "cleaned out".
