Tips on stopping betta flaring?

Honem

I just got my male betta 4 days ago and he has recently started flaring up whenever he sees his reflection. It's only on the front side of the glass, not the background, and he's doing it constantly. The tank is sitting on my kitchen counter and I can't move it, and I don't want to cover it up in any way. Should I just let him figure it out himself? It's a 5.5 gallon with all of the right parameters save for the temp which is at 76f.

Yea he'll figure out eventually. As long as he's not injuring himself attacking the glass which it doesn't sound like, just let him do his thing. Maybe try messing with your lighting angle to see if you can minimize the reflection

If that doesn't happen, placing plants and decor near the glass panels can help break up reflection. But generally, he should stop after awhile.

You could also get some floating plants with long roots, like frogbit, to break up lines of sight and break up the reflections a bit. Usually they do stop after awhile tho
