FedEx Rant

I'm not sure where to post this so here it goes.

I ordered Celestial Pearl Danios over the weekend, my credit card was charged, and yesterday I got the email saying that it was shipped by FedEx (I knew that since they're the only shipping option for fish) and it was scheduled to be delivered today, Wednesday the 21st by 4:30 pm.

I've always seen the FedEx truck in my neighborhood by 3pm....always. Well 4:30 rolls around and nothing. Tracking info shows that it was still at the sorting facility an hour or so away so I called FedEx around 5pm and to make a long story, short, the operator told me that it was still being delivered today, by 8pm.

I didn't buy that so I called back later and got the same thing. Well I still didn't buy that excuse so I called at 8pm, when they told me it would be delivered by and then whoever it was that I spoke to, told me that it was transferred to a DIFFERENT FedEx facility...different from what the tracking shows. When I blew up and insisted that they give me a refund on the overnight shipping that I had to pay for, the person told me that I have to contact the seller of the fish to get refunded.....at least that's what it sounded like to me. The people thar work at overseas call centers are nearly impossible to understand.

Does anyone know the procedure for FedEx screw-ups and refunds?

This is the second time I got screwed over with an fish order. The first time, the Glofish company sent me a completely different order than the one I placed. Not only that but one of the fish they sent had ich.
There's just a lot of this junk happening to me.

I'm sorry that happened to you but yes, contact the seller for a refund of the overnight shipping and suggest they reach out to FedEx for a refund since it's not their fault (as long as they actually did ship with the overnight option). The likely reason FedEx didn't refund you is because you didn't pay them directly so like, if the seller paid cash or card they'd have to reach out to FedEx personally since most companies can only refund money to the person that paid and only complete the refund the same way it was paid.

Thank you.

I'm actually tempted to see if I can pick this order up myself since the location the app tells me it's at is an hour from me.

I don't trust those idiots to deliver the package to me today. If I did let them deliver it, it won't get to my house until around 3pm and who knows how long those fish will survive in that bag/box.

Don't give up on them. I've known fish to survive just fine in a bag for 5-6 days.

I hope to find out today.

The latest tracking tells me that it's on a truck right now, but until I actually get those fish in hands, I won't believe anything FedEx tells me. I trust the USPS more than the FedEx idiots

I've had the opposite experience. All of my usps boxes looked crushed upon arrival. So bad I won't order fish anymore, because the last fish order was almost a complete loss. If they are special marked, it gets worse treatment.

Fish are usually packed to withstand several days in transit like JettsPapa said, don't give up on em.

I hope all is right but I've had a run of horrible luck lately with missing shipments, screwed up orders, etc.

For instance, it took months for a pharmaceutical company and doctor's office to straighten out my insulin delivery. I'm still miffed about that

And so far today, the company I ordered the fish from has not responded to emails that I sent last evening. They're on the east coast, so there's none of that time zone garbage

Edit.....

The company finally responded to my email regarding a refund on shipping charges and they told me I have to contact FedEx.

FedEx tells me I have to contact the company I ordered from.

Of course I'm getting the runaround. Nobody wants to take responsibility for a screw up that was not my problem
