Female betta survived being sucked into an aquaclear. What should I do now?

Just wanted to post a little update. September 11, 11 days after her initial injury, her scales have almost completely healed: Today is water change day, otherwise I haven't done anything to the tank besides remove some dead leaves. I've been feeding her really well, and today I noticed...

Cheap/Easy/Efficient Internal Filter, This thing is so loud, help!

Tape padding or foam to the corner of the tank it's on as well as pad the inside. Vaseline the impeller. Make sure nothing is getting sucked into it and blocking it. Check out something like a UV clairifier, it may help clear your water up

Why am I having such crazy ph and kh swings with seachem buffers and equilibrium

Thank you, I did end up moving him. My understanding of chemistry is too weak to ever solve this mystery, I'll just chock it up to being too small of a volume of water like you said and leave it at that I added him tonight and they immediately started desperately trying to get through the...

Why am I having such crazy ph and kh swings with seachem buffers and equilibrium

Hi guys, I was trying to get an answer to this on caudata but it's not working, I'm gonna combine the two posts I made here if anyone can please explain what's going on! I know the popular opinion is to leave ph alone but idk how I'm supposed to safely move one axolotl to another tank when it's...

    Advise on new tank welcome

Sounds awesome! Your water is very hard, but if your fish are captive bred it probably won't be an issue. I recommend honey gouramis for your highwater fish :)

Which Honey Gourami should go :(

I think you have too many fish in a small space. Also, wild bettas will likely fight. They are much more territorial than honey gouramis. Which species are you intending to get? I would upgrade to a 20 long

    Axolotl death - organ failure?

I advise asking on caudata, there is a lot of people who actually work with axolotls and other caudates for their jobs over there who might be able to extrapolate and figure out just what happened. Be sure to include pics if you can

    Advise on new tank welcome

This stocking seems better to me, but I would maybe skip out on the corys since you will have almost all bottom dwellers. Either than or choose between apistos and rams

Is your partner supportive of your fishkeeping?

My boyfriend likes my tanks, but he isn't exactly thrilled about them. There has been times where they've caused tension. He's the type of person who likes to be able to run at a moment's notice, and he feels like they restrict him (in reality my personality is more of that of a homebody, I...

Helping a neglected betta from family

Aw that's awesome, if you end up posting a pic of his set up please tag me! I guess all's well that ends well. On a side note, I'm impressed your mom handled criticism that well. Maybe you could teach her more about how you care for your fish if she really is interested in keeping one

Female betta survived being sucked into an aquaclear. What should I do now?

Yes, I think she is going to make it and be just fine. As of right now, i agree I'm just going to let the plants do the work. I'm removing poo and dead leaves as I see it, but otherwise I'm just going to let her recover now in peace and go back to my normal schedule for water changes. I...

Female betta survived being sucked into an aquaclear. What should I do now?

Haha thank you, and that's a good point about helping everyone learn, I forgot how many people view these threads without ever even making an account. I'll make sure to update back with how she does even if no one else comments, cause there's nothing more annoying than trying to browse forums...

Helping a neglected betta from family

If I was you, I would do two things to make the cycle safe: For one, I would buy another sponge filter (or whatever you prefer) for the new Betta tank. Then I would take the dirtier of the two sponges you already have, fill a dish that can fit the two of them with tank water, and squeeze...

20 Gallon Tank Mini cycle after 7 days into putting fish

Yo that is way too many fish in that tank, 20 gallons is enough for just the neons, maybe, if it was a 20 long. Neons especially need really clean water, and I'm pretty sure apistos need a lot more space being somewhat territorial? Plus a pleco?? That is just too many fish in a small space

Helping a neglected betta from family

Omg. Please take that Betta from your mother and don't give it back. She's obviously not going to do anything to care for it. Bettas need 5 gallons minimum to feel comfortable, 10 gallons to keep the water stable and actually let them stretch their fins. You can get away with 2.5g minimum but...
