Zombie Aponogenton

Some of you guys know about my weird, zombie plant. If not, heres a quick run down:

I bought a back of Aponogenton bulbs. One sprouted, and it was white, rather than green. Since, its growing like a weed, like Aponogenton does, but its brown and dead looking. Like, the leaves are transparent, there is no sign of green on the plant what so ever, yet it still grows. The tank is 5.5 gallons, it has a 10 watt CFL over it, and the tank has Flourish Root Tabs, and the occasional dose of Flourish Comp. This is the only plant that is growing like this. Its weird....





This pic actually makes it look better than it really is, but you get an idea of how it looks...





Any thoughts on this...?

 

Burn it, that's the best way to kill zombies.

Maybe increase the dosing of the Florish Comp?

 

But I like my Zombie plant!

Hmmm, maybe. Its actually only ever gotten one dose of Comp. I gave it a root tab pretty much all to itself. All that did was make it grow faster LOL

 

Its probably just low on chloroplasts, id increase the ferts.

 

Ok, so go back to dosing Flourish Comp weekly, then?

I was trying not to have to do that, because of the frogs lol Its just so weird. I've never had a plant grow like this, even in a tank practically barren of any waste!

 

def sounds like a lack of chloroplasts, fertz are the way to go, but why worry about the frogs as much? dose really low on a more regular basis if you don't want levels to spike so much, yes I know that means a drop or two at a time but its still something.

 

That's usually all I do, a few drops lol I'll add some in a bit and see what happens in the next few days...
