They for sure are! Especially if you have a male and a female. Their mating behaviors are crazy cool IMO

My top 2 are creatures I don’t own and probably won’t own:

Mantis shrimp
Goby (I’m addicted to watching videos of them spit sand at each other and other fish....)

And then of course, there’s the anabantoids. Gouramis, bettas, archerfish... I know I’m cheating by lumping these into one

I don't know why, but you bringing up that Snails are in your top 3 has made me appreciate snails more.

They definitely are pretty cool. I just got one Red Racer Netrite Snail to add to my Black Racer yesterday, and the plants that I got yesterday, also came with some little friends that I still have to ID.

Emperor tetra
Corydoras- fav might be pygmys or salt and pepper. I love the looks of other ones like orange lasers and stuff but too expenzive when you have to buy a minimum of 6 $15 dollar fish.
Honey Gourami

Honey Gourami
Those Orange Laser one's are cool but my LFS sells them for like $20 each. Just can't spend $120 lol.
I have two Honey Gourami's and they are so cool and have such a personality.

Agreed! $120 is way too much for me at least. Also I am going to get Honey's for a 20 gallon I'm settting up, at least 2.

Yeah I'm think of adding another female honey gourami. Honestly If I had room for another tank I would take this pair and add them to a group of like 6 (2 Males 4Females)
