Music seems to be a theme here lately & I’ve really enjoyed listening to quite a lot of them, some I’ve really enjoyed, some not so much. Anyway that got me thinking about the music in our lives, how its changed & what was topping the charts when I was born.

In the UK this was a number 1

In the US it was this

Yes I’m old! lol what was in the charts when you were born?

I was born the year Grease was released.... the number one song (in Aus) that year was

The Bee Gees were huge that year too, but I gotta say, the 80's is my favourite decade of music.... Aerosmith, INXS, Guns 'n' Roses, AC/DC, Prince, Michael Jackson, the list of great artists is endless. And of course, nothing is more Australian than this:

Or maybe Men at Work have the most Aussie song:

The may not be the year I was born, but they are the songs I can remember from early childhood. Coradee I'm sure you hear the last two quite a lot in the UK with all our ex-pats over there :D

Oh I remember the 80’s very well, aside from the 60’s a vintage decade :)

This is the number one when I was born, it was their second single after leaving Motown records. Funnily the label they went to was Buddah records.

October 1984:

Germany: Stevie Wonder - Just called to say I love you
UK: Wham! - Freedom
US: Stevie Wonder, too.

Well... Could be worse, but also far better.

I remember when greese came out, it was the first movie I took my girlfriend/first wife to see before we got married, yes I'm old ish too. There were many good artists then, unlike the one hit wonders nowadays. I liked Tina Turner, Queen, Mike oldfield, complete contrasts but enjoyed most of their works, still do.

I'm listening to Pandora, on the CCR station, and Lying Eyes from The Eagles came on. I don't know which album it was on originally, but I know it was on their Greatest Hits 1971 - 1975 album. At one time or another I've owned it on cassette, LP, 8-track, and CD.

For those of you who remember 8-tracks, didn't you just love that Cha- CHUNK in the middle of songs when it changed tracks?
