Your bettas personality? (And pics!)

I’ve got my 4 boys...

Kimchi, he’s quite the ladies man and very passive he actually enjoys the company of other fish. He never flares at another betta, unless it’s blue. He has a thing with blue fish/objects he considers them as evil I guess.

Orion, the eldest he’s about 4 1/2ish years old so don’t mind his kind of crummy looking fins. He’s got a major grumpy old man attitude going on right now, his hobbies are attacking the bubbles coming out of his sponge filter and snacking on baby snails.

Tauros, he’s still growing into his personality at the moment he’s just your typical young spunky betta.

And lastly Saturday, just your friendly neighborhood crackhead. This fish is literally insane, he swims upside down on purpose, constantly is trying to escape his tank, this fish has jumped out probably a dozen times through holes that I didn’t even know existed, he never learns. He also likes to jump up and bite the cling wrap I have covering his escape routes and pull it into the tank. His favorite pastime is pestering poor old man Orion through the divider holes. And he’s also trained to jump through hoops.

In that case they'll never notice one of the tanks has one more resident.

Shannon is a nosy fish. Always staring when someone is near the tank. My husband says all my pets like to creep on him, lol. This one just got a prime spot in the living room.

This my boy Pisces. He's a dumbo betta. I choose between him and an active crowntail. Unfortunately for the crowntail I've wanted a dumbo betta for the longest and I'm glad I choose him.

This is my sweet betta Reggie and his 10 gallon he shares with an African dwarf frog and a nerite snail. Soon he will be getting some more frog and micro fish friends

He used to kill everything I put in with him until I got the frog. He tried flaring but the frog certainly put him in his place

I’ve had him for nearly a year and a half now, and he was about a year old when I got him. Prepare for a lot of pictures lol

This is Wilbur.

His container said he's a male dragon scale, but I bought him because I love his colors.

I've only had him since yesterday, so I can't say much for his personality yet. He seems to be somewhat of a picky eater (he eventually ate his 2 pellets this morning, but he wasn't very excited about it), somewhat shy (he mostly stays in his hideouts when I get close but swims around when I'm at least a couple feet away), and somewhat aggressive (he takes no guff from his reflection in the glass).

I'm still very new to fishkeeping and have been trying to learn how to tell when a betta has fin rot or constipation or other issues but don't have a very good grip on these things yet, so if I ever post a picture where he doesn't look like he's in optimal condition, let me know! I would appreciate the help!

This is Lord Dain (I named him after a dwarf from the Lord of the Rings). Hes a dumbo plakat and a real a-hole. He went through 8 cherry shrimp in just a couple days but won’t touch my pest snails. Also he really likes to dig up plants and will eat any carpeting plant. I get left with the bare stem of a plant and it looks like it’s melted when it’s only been in the tank for 2 days. Also please ignore his tattered fins (I cropped out his other pectoral it’s really bad) there’s one spot on the driftwood in his tank he can tear his fins on and he keeps ripping off the Java moss I put over it. I finally got enough on now he can’t hurt himself so we’re starting the healing process. Took 6 months for him to leave it alone.

This is Gill Nye, my veil tail betta. I love his aqua blue, purple, and pink colors! He swims laps around the 10 gallon tank one minute, and then takes a nap the next. He always hiding in the water lettuce roots, and can hide himself so well I always think he jumped out! Most of the time he’s hanging out by the feeding hole in the right corner of the tank begging for food...

This is my plakat betta, Denali! When I first got him (first pic - he never sat still), he had this beautiful white speckling on his face and base of his fins, and thus I named him after the snow-capped DenalI mountain. He was incredibly curious and active, but not particularly aggressive. About a month later (second pic) I used him for breeding. At that point his white was starting to diminish. He was a FANTASTIC father (though mean to mom at first), and meticulously tended to his nest and eggs. When the fry were first free-swimming, he was flying around like a madman trying to bring them all back to the nest! At that point I retired him to a planted 10 gallon tank. About 6 months after I got him (third pic), he had grown out of all of his white, and was temporarily sharing his 10 gal with some adolescent killifish. I swear he never lost his father attitude, because he'd sit back and watch them all steal his food without complaining!

Currently, he is still in his planted 10 gallon, about a year and a half old. He has since traded all of his white for equally gorgeous bright blue speckling all over his body (fourth pic). He is happily sharing his tank with CPDs that he never even looks at (whose colors compliment his very well), but still explores the whole tank all day long. His favorite activity is biting my hands when I'm trying to do tank maintenance because he's smart enough to know that those drop in his food every day, but not smart enough to realize they don't magically release food when he bites them!
