Young Etroplus Canarensis Or Maculatus?

    These were ordered in as E. canarensis but just looking for a second opinion IMG_20190821_085215.IMG_20190821_085233.

    I don't think so. E. canarensis has a very strong pattern of vertical bars the full height of the body. The dark grey patch on the lower flanks looks very much like maculatus. Considering the price difference between the two, it looks like you got severely cheated.

    Yeah I was praying that they were really young haha. They were ordered from a wholesaler in Singapore and for the price we payed they are about £38 each so around $45 each. Considering they're only about 6-7cm as well... We've possibly been duped

    You were very definitely cheated. At 6-7cm they are better than half grown, and would be showing the full vertical bars for certain.
