Yet another build...

Haven’t posted about this or many of my other builds before, but I’m delighted with the potential of this so I just had to show it... It’s all hand built by yours truly. Got the tubes wired up today, just need the back board and front light covering panel and doors then we are rocking! It will look amazing when done.

One tank is set up just to house, as my plecs decided to breed so needed a place to put the fry. They’re all going to be planted and stocked with small fish like Bettas and tetras etc

Moving along nicely. Just finished putting the hood on. 4 concealed hinges and 2 15kg gas struts. Rear kick panels in place also. Doors and drawers to be built and installed tomorrow hopefully.

the tanks in original are going the journey, just ordered 3 custom made sizes to take their place.

designed and 3D printed a light switch bracket too, to keep it up and out the way.

Very cool design. Did you add 2x4's to the center it appears? I would add some to the inside corners as well just to give it some extra moral support at the edges. But that might just be me. Good luck. What else are you planning to add besides your pleco fry or will all 3 tanks house them?

Very nicely laid out. Love the effect you get from hoods over a rack like this. Keep posting as you go, I would love to follow along.

Thank you for your comments I toyed with the idea of putting more 2x4s on the edges, but I think the MDFis holding fine. It’s heavily glued and screwed in so should be good.

the pleco fry is just temporary until I can grow them out and find new homes, they’re all going to be scaped ‘nano’ tanks. One with a nice betta and some cardinals, and I'm still deciding on the others.

thank you, I love it too, it’s my first rack like this. I think for £200 for wood, hardware and the 3 new tanks is very fair for the final result. Will definitely post a finished picture.

I have a few projects on atm, like sumping my 520L, home improvements etc, so it’s taking longer than expected lol

Nice! Sorry if you already said this, but what size are the individual tanks?

I don’t think I did actually, they’re very custom sizes (someone local is making them to fit), so they’ll be just shy of 50L, 60cm x 29cm x 27cm

Okay cool. And they're all going to be freshwater, right?
You could two single species tanks and then a community tank in the middle? Or you could do two tanks with slightly bigger fish and less of them, and then the one in the middle with a school of tiny fish. Just some suggestions

I was planning on having one of them as an axolotl tank, but the cold water would be impossible without a chiller, which I don’t wanna do.

They’re all going to have a continuous scape that carries on throughout all 3 tanks.
I am leaning towards what you just suggested, I just want them up and running and cycled them I’ll start looking at fish. I want something like a shrimp and danio/minnows, golden betta and cardinals, and then some mollys/livebearers

I forgot to update, it’s pretty much done. There’s possibly a few changes I wanna make, such as adding a large 6 x 1 x 1 tank on the bottom in the future, but for now, it’s done
