yeah but after doing some calculations I may not be able to afford everything lol >.<... I'm thinkin of dropping to 75 but ill prolly just work up some money or give up my christmas presents in order to pay for the 125 + filter and fish and stuff... I had no idea the filter would run me 175$

This will give you time to plan your tank and to research the fish you want. When you get it you will have to cycle it so that will give you more time to save for those expensive fish you want. So patience... and of course we will want pictures of whatever you get ;D

Jon, BIG congratulations! You will have so much fun with the setup! And so many possibilities with aquascaping! I am also planning to get something between 75-100/125 gallons ... but in a VERY distant future, hah. Well, good luck to you with your giant new tank!

WOW! That is outstanding! I wish I had an aquarium that big! CONGRATS! Can't wait to see your pictures! I've recently got a tank approximately 3/5 gallons that will be home to Bertha and Stewart! They are Fiddler Crabs! I'll post pictures when I'm done the setup! All the ornaments are natural, and I've found them on the beach, so it'll be neat, I think! Good Luck on Your Tank!!!!

you will have to wait a lil longer because I'm going down the acrylic road... I hope to have it set up fishless by april but the tank takes 6 weeks to build.

I was once reading online about shipping charges of huge tanks and stands - it could go as high as around $700. This is in a case when they ship a huge tank and stand to your door from a rather distant purchase location.

Well, let me repeat this again. Maybe it is just one place that charges so much for shipping. I was once looking for nice tanks, stands, and canopies online (since they never have any nice stands and canopies in my LFS - or at least not the ones that appeal to my taste ... and I am too picky I guess, lol). I looked for stands and canopies for tanks around 125 gallons. I found one place in Florida (I live in New York) that makes truly wonderful wooden stands and canopies (and I really love wooden furniture). So, I e-mailed them and asked how much shipping of a 125G wooden stand and canopy to New York from Florida would cost. They replied and said it would be around 700$ for this stand and canopy size. Obviously, because it is so big, they'd have to ship it to my door. Maybe shipping of huge aquatic furniture wouldn't cost that much if it were within the same state or between states that are close to each other.
