Yellow Tang in a 130L?

babytiger23

Can I keep a yellow tang in a 130l? My lfs says it's ok to do so, they also have one in a 130l in the shop.

Lfs don't always give the best advice, 130 litres, 34Us gallons isn't big enough for one.
I wanted one for my marine tank but like yours the tank was too small.

Slug

I wouldn't do it.

Ok cheers guys. Think I'll stay away then no matter how nice they are.

Good advice above, I'll just add, that, with tangs, swim space is most important. Tangs are very active fish.

If your 130L/34G tank was 3 foot wide, then yes, I'd give it a go, but typically, these sized tanks are not 3 foot wide, thus inadequate IMO.

Thank you all for your good advice. So far I have a pair of clowns, royal gramma and a blue cheek goby. What would anyone recommend?
