Hello.
I have a small yellow lab cichlid and for some reason he has a sunken stomach? He seems to spit out pellets and is not very interested in food. What's wrong with him?? All my other cichlids are fine.

Is he pooping? It could be parasites. How long have you had him? Any new fish added to the tank before this started?

I have had him for almost a week. He was like this when I got him. I rarely see him pooping.

He is the smallest cichlid I have. He is not being bullied though he does get pushed away from the food and doesn't seem to have enough confidence to eat

I would quarantine him. If he does have parasites you don't want them being passed to your other fish! It will be easier to treat him in isolation and also to feed him so he doesn't lose out to the other fish.

I don't have a quarantine tank. But I do have a 64l cold water tank. What is the lowest temperature they can handle?

What's currently living in the cold water tank? What temperature is it? According to Seriously Fish they can handle a temperature down to 75F but at lower temperatures fish immune systems don't work as well. Since he's already sick I would not put him in an unheated tank!

Just a few whether loaches. The tank is at 68f so I guess he definitely can't go in there

Nope, that would certainly not help matters!

Do you have a plastic storage tote that's never seen soap that you can use and a spare heater?
