Yellow Betta?

Would this be considered a yellow Betta? He has some blue/purple on him. I’m thinking about breeding him cuz he has a pretty double tail. Anyone know if yellow gene is dom? Or if DT or HM is dom? Or is it just random?

Looks kind of like a mustard gas but the yellow is super strong. I really don't know much about genes though

I believe yellow is recessive, but someone else on here probably has more detailed knowledge than I do.

He would be considered a bi-color, but yes he has yellow. He is genetically a mutt, so you won't have a way to guarantee the color of the offspring, even getting a line bred female.
Double tail gene is recessive, you will need to find a female with a recessive DT gene but not expressing (you don't really want to breed expressing DTxDT because it can cause issues in the fry).

Well, my plan is to spawn, pick out a female with wanted results, breed her with the father... then pick out brother and sister to breed so I can control the genetics a little over time, and introduce a new fish after a while, and repeat. Right now I’m working my koi, I also did a random pair of colors of red and blue..
but I’ve noticed, since I keep all my Bettas in a community tank, the males and females kinda become partial to a certain mate, and refuses to spawn with anyone else (until they spawn together) and then choose another mate. Quite weird, lol.
