Sure! I have nerites and mystery snails as well, but the rabbit snails are so cute and so friendly! Mine only retract in their shells when resting. I can pick them up and they'll crawl around your hand. When they reproduce it's only usually one baby at a time and they keep the baby in their shells until they're big enough to be on their own then they are little miniture them. When they move it's like an inch worm. They move and pull their shells. Just awesome unique little things.

Thank you! Yeah honestly I don't know how to sex them either. Online they say it's almost impossible. When I ordered mine I got 4 so I'd have a good chance of getting a male and female. What kind are yours?

I don't even know if it's recommended to cross breed(probably not), just think it's interesting. They are in different tanks, but a gold spot and chocolate.

Yeah not sure about cross breeding (if you find out you should let know.) I have 3 yellows and a chocolate as well.

I think it might be ok... Just a quick search. I seriously want to breed them now! Oh what have you started! Haha just kidding. I love chocolates, they are awesome. Mine is named truffle. Darn, now I want a truffle...

You mean your mysteries don't crawl all over you How do you manage that? I can't do much of anything without attached snails or shrimp.

lol Sorry! I didn't mean to start anything! ;D My chocolate snail is named Nessie for Nesquick not loch ness. lol

My mysteries aren't shy. If I'm messing around in their tank they won't pay attention but they do retract if I have to take them out to clean. I still love them though!! They're all my babies!

It's so cute! I've always thought rabbit snails were awesome, but I don't have the tank space or the right substrate to keep them.

If your mystery snails are shy, you can always work on hand-feeding them at their dinnertime...most of mine will grab snail jello or a green bean from my hand now. Food will make them lovey

That's a great idea! Most of my snails were rescues and you can tell they're happy. I just haven't attempted because they did go through some trauma at the place I got them. I had to patch up some of their shells so I just didn't want to rock the boat. I just want them to be happy but great idea! Thanks!

I take mine out every week on cleaning day and I leave them alone while I clean their tank and when it's done and I'm waiting for the water to clear up I pick them up and hold them in my hands very still and they used to be so scared and take 10 minutes to come out and now they don't even close up when I pick them up! I put them on my hand and they start snailing around! I really do think they build a trust.
