I got this "little girl" about a week ago, and admittedly, she is quite young. They said the chance of there being males in the tank I selected her from was slim.
Welp! 'she' has been flaring at her reflection and this morning I found a bubble nest.
Halp! (Also her colors are changing.)

Head and body shape look more male to me and I see no ovaries. If it were a female I’d expect to see the ovaries pretty easily as it is a light bodied fish. So I say male.

It is definitely possible for it to be a female, as female bettas tend to have aggressive tendencies as well, and will flare to show domination. But, with the information Demeter provided, it might be more likely to be male. See if you can get a picture of the underside?

This is the best I could get. This fish is very skiddish when I come close to the tank.
