Link: Xtreme Cichlid Peewee

this brand was popular for awhile but then sort of died off lol. my local shelter had some surprisingly so i bought some, just to try them out as i do like trying to new foods and seeing which ones my fish responds better to

first of all the size of the pellets are around 1.5mm but are actually smaller then the bug bites i have which are around 1.4mm-1.6mm but not quite as small as my northfin pellets which are 1mm. so they are a decent size for smaller fish such as bettas and he did eat them quickly but not as quickly as he normally does. was also easy for him to swallow. i would only feed 2 maybe 3 pellets per feeding depending on your fish.

the ingredients are also fairly good as there is a bunch of different types of fish used, despite not using whole fish but has a lot of things in it.

ingredients: shrimp meal, menhaden fish meal, herring meal, wheat flour, ground wheat, rice bran, wheat midds, soybean meal, squid meal, spirulina, dried brewers yest, paprika, lecithin, red pixafil, sodium chloride, propionic acid (preservative), ascorbic acid, carophyll red, dl-methionine, threonine, betta carotene, vitamin a supplement, vitamin d3 supplement, vitamin e supplement, vitamin b12 supplement, riboflavin supplement, niacin supplement, calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, menadione sodium bisulfite, thiamine, biotin, folic acid, choline chloride, calcium carbonate, manganese sulfate, copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, ethylenediamine dihydriodide, ferrous sulfate, cobalt sulfate, sodium selenite.

guaranteed analysis: protein (min): 38.0%, fat (min) 5.0%, fiber (min) 6%

i dont really like how little there is in the analysis as i do like to see different vitamins and stuff there. it was for $3.99 at the store despite being extremely expensive on amazon. i will not buy again as my betta doesnt respond to it as well as he does with his current foods. i do like the size but it is hard to find where i am and im not too fussy about the brand itself

I've used this food for some time, it is really effective for growth and coloring up medium sized fish, especially Malawian Hap types, as well as some non-Cichlids. The pellets strike me as a bit large for small fish like Bettas even though they are called peewee, but for fish with a mouth big enough to handle them, it is a fantastic and nutritious food.

It can actually fit in a bettaa moyth but wouldn't feed them too many pellets at once. It isnt a bad food but my betta doesnt seem to care for it much
