Wrs2's Endler & Wild Guppy Tank

After having my 20 gallon long for officially one month I set it up!I have a some Endler and Wild Guppy fry (one may actually be a mosquito fish) that will be moving inside soon. I was raising them up in a tub outdoors, so I decided that these little guys needed a home!

Here is the current set up....

I have some MopanI Driftwood, cholla wood, river rocks & Dragon Stone for hardscape. I am bad, I mixed hardscape types haha. Oops...

For plants I have anubias nana petite, java moss, trident java fern, a bit of crypt wendttI green (which you can see floating as I haven't planted it yet and Lemon Bacopa. I need to get some more plants obviously haha.

I may do some shrimp in this tank, but I am not 100% sure yet! I have a habit of adding a betta to every tank I own, even when I tell myself not to, so maybe the shrimp will be a no go!

Currently it has 3 Endlers. I have the father of the fry and 3 others who will be moving over shortly as well.

In total I may have 16 - 20 fish in here. The father is maybe an inch long, so they area ll really small, but I know I will need more hiding spots, especially for the girls (most of the fry are female!) so they don't get harassed too much by the guys!

The only time I could get a decent photo of him was in the morning as soon as the lights came on, after a few minutes he would be going crazy swimming all over making a clear photo impossible haha!

The wood is leaking tannins and making the water look awful and yellow! I put some activated carbon in the filter to help clear it but it’s not working.
I also did add a betta, he can’t be bothered with the the other fish as the neighbor in the next tank is a betta and they are always flairing at each other.

Idk if I should add any other types of fish to the tank other than the endlers and wild guppies. I did order a mystery snail from aquaticarts over a week ago but the order still hasn’t been processed.

I think the tannins look nice lol. I add leaves to mine for the effect

I just hate the color of the water though. If it was just a Betta tank I guess it would be okay but for fish that like harder water I don’t know if it will soften the water too much.

Nah they hardly lower the pH in my water. What's your KH?

It’s a 6.

I know the acid in the tanin is a weak acid though.

With 6 KH it should hardly budge your pH at all.

I started to add some of the fish from my tub. OMG they are TINY! haha

Current stock is...

3 Black bar Endlers
1 Tiger Cobra Endler
1 Guppy (Japanese blue lyretail guppy - I believe)
7 Wild Guppies (Less than one in max size)
1 Betta (who can careless that he has tank mates haha)

I was thinking about getting a small school of neon tetras but honestly I want to keep this more cooler water fish, minus the betta though, who may move to a new tank.
