So my aunt called and said she's had cloudy water in her tank now for 2 weeks. I asked her if she had carbon in and she said she just removed it since it's been 2 weeks. I asked her what her stats were and she couldn't remember but she thinks the nitrates were low, nitrites were low, and ammonia zero. So obviously her tank isn't cycled. How can she get rid of the cloudy water though? Thanks

Patience This is just a bacteria bloom, it will catch up to the tanks needs in a couple of days. It should be gone in a few days.

All right thanks, I also was told she might not have washed her gravel as I remember her telling me it's old gravel. Will find out tonight when she calls me.

from what I heard, old gravel is a good thing. It should have the bacteria she needs to get her cycle going.

It is good if it comes directly from an active tank but other wise needs to be rinsed. Especially new gravel is extremely dusty. If thats it will settle soon.
