Okay so I know the title is weird but i couldn't think of anything else. So, soon I'm going to be getting a 20 gallon standard and the Aqueon versa lid that fits it. (I would get the tank when I'm ready at the Petco $1 per gallon) And I was going to make the tank a rimless one but would the lid still fit?

I don't think it would still fit. They lay on that lip if I'm not mistaken.

The rim is there for support i wouldn't remove it unless your using it for a reptile or something your not going to add water to. But like others have said no the lid will not fit but a custom lid could be made easily with plexiglass.
