Would Danios eat Otos?

I have two danios, and four itty bitty tetras, and I HAD four Otos in one tank.
I’ve mysteriously lost two Otos. No bodies. There one day, gone the next.

The tetras are obviously not the culprits (they’re like, 1/5 the size of the Otos and very shy) and I don’t see the Otos going after eachother?

I literally just cleaned my tank on Sunday, counted three Otos (The fourth one mysteriously disappeared about a month ago) and then today (Tuesday) I’m feeding them all and I’m down to two.

One of the danios goes after the other danio, they chase eachother around the tank. But would they really be attacking and killing the Otos?

Your danios shouldn't be bothering the otos unless they are bothering them.... I would watch out for bullying from the other fish. The reason why you didn't see the body could be because it got sucked up into the filter or other fish ate it. I would say other fish ate it, since once a fish dies its pretty normal for the other fish to eat the body.

So more than likely my bigger danio (who likes to chase the other “swimmers”, I haven’t seen him be aggressive but it also would not surprise me in the slightest) is bullying and has somehow killed the Otos and then collectively everyone ate the bodies, great! <insert disgusted face here>

If your water parameters are fine and the fish do not appear to have parasites or other sicknesses, then I'm afraid so. Danios can be pretty boisterous. I cannot be 100 percent sure that is happening in your tank though, since fish can die because of many things. If you really want to be sure about what is happening, I would wait for more responses so that others can also elaborate on the situation.

Yeah my water is totally fine. Ah well, circle of life I suppose. We can’t ever be certain unless I set up a camera lol!

Haha yes, fish(and just everything that exists) can do some interesting things sometimes. Also, just mentioning, I would get at least 3 more danios and 2 more tetras since they are schooling fish(I believe your tetras are, although I'm pretty sure most tetras school). I've heard danios can be nippy if not kept in correct numbers. Of course, if the tank is already small then I wouldn't do that.

I have 8 zebra danios and 3 Otos and I don't think the danios know the Otos exist. However, having more danios keeps there aggression between themselves in my limited experience.

Yeah, I had five of them originally and three of them were super shy around the two ones in this tank, so I moved them to a different tank. Wondering if these ones are on a power trip... I see fishkid16 also seems to suggest adding more, so maybe I’ll group them back together and hope for the best.

Oh god no, the danios are the same size if not a tiny bit smaller than the otos. Otos are adults, good size now.

What sized tank? if it's ten or 5-gallon zebras are really quite active and tend to get a bit **** in such a small tank, they fly across my 55 like no one's business.

20, and I have a lot of plants/decor along the back and left the front more bare for them to zip around

I would add 3-5 more, but strictly speaking I don't think the zebras had anything to do with the otos death.
