Would Congo be friend or food with oscars?
They would be a nice light snack. Oscars are fish predators, and they grow. Forget about shoaling tankmates unless your tank is huge (180 gallons plus). The fish that can thrive with Oscars need room themselves.
300gal tank so we have room just hoping to get some fish that can shoal and live with oscars also want plants so silver dollars are out of the question
Ive seen fully grown rainbow sharks hanging out of an oscars mouth, so id avoid congos they would probably diminish over time lol one by one my young oscar is docile but a sly snap predator, you only see it if you watch for a good while but i think its only a matter of months before my rainbow becomes a morsel. Plecos, s.decorus, silver dollars, all great tank mates.
Silver dollars would be your best bet schooling fish wise.
Unfortunately I really want a planted aquarium
