I have 4 white tail acei, 4 demasoni and 3 yellow labs (still juveniles) in a 45 gallons tank at the moment. I’m waiting for my new 75 gallons to be delivered soon.
I’m new to cichlids and in the last month I’ve experienced Mbuna aggression. I had to remove 1 yellow lab that was getting badly beaten by the tank boss, Benny the dominant yellow lab. After seeing this, I’ve changed my mind about having only Mbunas. I am now aiming for a little more peaceful fish. I also need red/orange fish. Would Astatotilapia latifasciata be a good addition to this tank ? I’ve researched them and I know they can be kept together but I’d like hands on opinions.
My store has juveniles in stock so I would be getting 4, hoping for an ideal ratio of 1m:3f which is not likely to happen if I go by what I got for the first groups.
Thanks !
