Worried snail mom/owner

OK I'm probably being paranoid but my small brood of baby mysteries outgrew their floating breeder box so released into the rest of the 50 gallon (they poop a lot so breeder floor covered) . My biggest concern is they won't find their food now that they have to look for it instead of it being less than 6 inches away. Is my concern legit? They are about the size of a nickel on average.

I wouldn't worry. Snails can sense the chemicals released by their food and will head for it at relatively high speed

If you're worried, you could always put some pieces of collard green throughout the tank so they could just go to the closest piece...collard greens have a high calcium and low phosphorous ratio. It doesn't mess with water parameters and gives them something to munch on whenever they please.
