World's Largest Nature Aquarium

I was lucky enough to visit this 42,000+ gallon aquascape by the late TakashI Amano at the Oceanario de Lisboa, and wanted to share this beautiful tank

It's so stunning and magnificent in person because you're completely surrounded by the scape and music, but hopefully the video gives a good idea of what it's like.

Stats:

40 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, 1.45 meters deep
12 metric tonnes of sand, 25 tonnes of volcanic rock, 78 pieces of wood/branches
10,000 fish, 40 species
46 species of plants

 

My insides are shakeing!!! I Would buy a new betta fish every day and keep adding! You could have like 1000 male bettas in there!!!!

Nice! Usually I only see big saltwater tanks. It makes me happy to see such a big freshwater tank!

Absolutely! They had the usual huge saltwater but I was mostly there for this
