Wood suggestions for P. maccus

I've asked this in other places and Google isn't helping so...I got a clown pleco (Panaqolus maccus) yesterday. I have cholla wood. Is this going to be sufficient for my new child, and if not, what would be the best wood and where to get it online, or should I just get it from a store? And is there a wood that won't leach a lot of tannins? I'm not interested in my ph dropping anymore (at 7.6).

Manzanita, is almost tannin free wood. Malaysian is a dark, nutrient rich wood. Its great for Plecos but does stain the water.

I may get spiderwood. I know Petco has some, but I've been leary of buying loose wood from a store (says the person who bought loose cholla from a local aquarist at a swap meet).
