Wood Sap Stuck To Pot

I was boiling a chunk of wood to sterilize it, and the next day I noticed a bunch of sap is stuck around the rI'm of the pot. I can't seem to scrub it off nor will soaking in hot water soften it. Is there something I can put on it to help remove the sap? My mum will kill me if I can't get it off

Buy the identical pot and put the one you used to boil the wood in a safe hiding spot!!

You can try a mild acid like vinegar as long as it isn't aluminum.

I would get the water as high as possible and boil it. Hit water may not get it off, but boiling it should.

If the sap is hard, you should be able to scratch it off with a fingernail or stainless steel wool.

Thank you, I'll try these. Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately it's a big expensive stewing pot, so I probably wouldn't be able to afford a new one. But I learned my lesson, no more boiling wood in mums expensive pot!

Thankfully not, I've just been too busy to get to cleaning it. And possibly worried I can't clean it....

Peanut butter! No, seriously I hear that works. Helps on hands anyway.

Huh, sounds interesting. I'll see if we have any peanutbutter.

Yeah, rub it in real good, the oils are supposed to break it down to wash off easier.
If it doesn’t work them blame the residue on your mom’s last meal. Just say “what would I possibly be doing with your pot? Must have been something you added to your stew last time, ma!”

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to post if it works, or if anything works really.

Hahahaha, I would do that if only she hadn't seen me boiling the wood...

Well it's a very small apartment, I think even if I boiled it at night she'd probably wake up
