Windelov Java Fern

sairving

Normally, I buy plants from my lfs but decided to try one of the tube plants from Petsmart (an experiment). I bought a windelov java fern a month ago and tied it to a piece of driftwood. One leaf melted and the rest of the plant has been green. There has been no new growth since then. It merely exists in the tank. The red flame sword, tiger lotus, and duckweed are all growing. Do windelov java ferns really grow this slow?

I had one and it took some time to settle in. Even after that it was a slow grower and I found that it was quite a magnet for BBA. It grew much faster when I started injecting CO2, but that’s the same for all plants.

It's been a magnate for algae so far and that's about it. Maybe someday it will grow.
