Will my Oscar eat my Bichir?

So I have a 4-inch Oscar that took down an adult serpae tetra the other day (they have now been moved, although one of them was dead earlier, not sure why. It looked like it had bite marks. I may start a different thread for that). This was totally unexpected as I thought they were too fat to fit in his mouth, but obviously I was wrong.
Now to the actual question. I have a Senegal Bichir that I’ve been growing out in a 40 and he’s about 3.5-4 inches long and about as thick as my little finger. This is skinnier then a serpae but he’s a lot longer and a lot faster. I’d like to put him in the 75 with the oscar, and I’m just wondering if the Oscar will even bother with him because he’s so big. Is putting them together a pipe dream, should I just wait longer, is he ready now, what do you think?

Seems fine. Just watch the oscar when it is hungry... Look at this; Someone had same discussion: Oscar and Bichir in 75 gallon?

He will eat it. Anything small enough to fit in his mouth (length doesn't matter, they can digest chunks of a fish while holding the rest of the tail between their lips) he will try. I had a case of an 8 inch oscar eating another smaller oscar (that was around 4 inches in length), this same oscar ate everything it could fit in its mouth, bichirs, large fish, didn't matter, it moved, he ate it.
