Will my filter be able to withstand the following fishes?

Hello, this is my second tank (my first tank did not go so well ) which is an 85 liter (~22 US gallons) aquarium with a Marina i160 filter with biological, chemical and mechanical filters and can filter up to 160 liters (as the name suggests). I am planning to add 10 neon tetras, 5 platies and 4 peppered cories to the tank and hopefully, there will be a kind of ecosystem . Will my tank (and my filter) be able to withstand to bio-load from the fishes?

Plus, are there any websites that could accurately check for this?

Hello! Welcome to the forum!
Aqadvisor is the closest website I can think of to check it, however, it's not perfect and you shouldn't solely rely on it.
Usually you'll want 10x the filtration from your filter per gallon, ex. A 20 gallon tank with AT LEAST 200 gph, so you're just a little short on filtration. I can't personally help you with stocking, but I think someone like TexasDomer can.

What is your tank now? Meaning how many gallons. You need to add more peppered cories and less platies.

You could try:
8-10x neon tetra
3x male platies
6x peppered cories

Mollyluv Thank you for the welcome! I just ran my proposed tank intoand it came out with this:
tankdetails.png Is this an alright setup? Are there too many fishes?
Sarah73 My tank has around 22 gallons of capacity as stated above. Why do I need more peppered cories and fewer platies?

Oh... thank you very much! If this helps, I definitely don't want any fry or baby fishes around.

Peppered cories are schooling fish, and thrive better in groups, whereas platies are social, sometimes shoaling fish. They don't require many fish of the same species, but they do better with at least three.

Ok, but my filter can handle all of these fish, right?

I'm not sure about the fewer platies but since cories are a schooling catfish 6 are the recommended minimum group size.
as molly suggested do all same gender with the platies so you don't end up with a breeding problem.

EDIT: I was beat to the punch by 3 minutes while I was typing

The new setup is the following:

Apparently, my filtration capacity is 115% and my recommended water change is 30% per week. If this is true then I should be doing fine right? Or am I in any sort of risk/danger?

Does it matter if I buy my fish all male or all female? If so, which is better? Thank you for the information and I will definitely consider that in my tank.

I can't personally help you with stocking, but I think someone like @TexasDomer can.

I do not have the privilege of private messaging so can you please message him stating that I need help with stocking and stuff like that.

I personally choose to get all male live bearers (platys, guppies, etc) because the females can store sperm for up to 6 months (per my reading here) and are usually pregnant when they come from the store since they are kept with males there. So by getting males you eliminate this issue/concern. Sounds like it will be a nice tank.
Do you know what went wrong with your first tank, so you can be more successful this time?

That's true, he might be able to find virgin female live bearers from private breeders but its considerably harder to do so and in most cases isn't worth it.

and TexasDomer will get a notification

Many things went wrong. I didn't acclimatize them at all, was too impatient to wait for the Nitrogen Cycle to even start, probably gave every single platy shock or something.

That's why I have spent the past two days (literally 8-10 hours) researching to prevent this from ever happening again and hopefully make up for my errors. By the time they died, I didn't even change the water for a couple of weeks so the water was murky and if you ever had any fish deaths then you know when they are dead and when they are not.

They lived a life of pain and misery, I was even lucky that they survived two months (or unlucky to them) and the worst part is that I got an equal number of males and females so the females were stressed for the whole of their short lives. But because I was a child then I was very optimistic and often ignored problems like any other child.

TL DR: It was a very bad experience and I have put so much effort to prevent it from happening again.

I'll just go with all males instead, just as long as they are not territorial and aggressive towards each other.

Thank you very much! I was a bit worried that I couldn't PM him.

I like how the actual question was never answered haha. I would say you are fine with that filter if you wanted to be safe you can always add a second smaller HOB filter or a sponge filter

I attempted to answer the OPs question in the beginning , 160 gph is a little low, it would be a good idea to get a smaller filter for those extra 60 gph, and it would be safe to go above 60 if he wanted.

Oh okay, so that means that I am lacking but what about stacking?

If I go with this setup:

I should be fine, right?

My filtration capacity is at 114% and recommended water change is 30% per week.

P.S. I am really thrilled as I only need to keep the water at 25C (77F) the whole time!
