oh my gosh.. look.

"Question: Will my new ghost shrimp get eaten? (In with 1 gourami, 3 balloon mollies, 2 guppies, 3 otos..)
You may only select up to 2 options. "

BEFORE you vote.. this is what you see. AFTER you vote, it takes away the option statement because it's null..

Well, I bought him!!!

He's SOOO tiny... I also bought some more plants and some plant fertilizer stuff. He just kind of floats around. He's also pretty fast, I think he'll survive. I've provided PLENTY of hiding places within the plants and the other decor in there so I think he'll make it!! Now I need a name for him.

I chickened out. Didn't buy the frozen blood worms. I bought the freeze dried ones and freese dried brine shrimp.

He is little... but about an inch long, just really tiny looking...

They seemingly left him alone today... but he hid a lot. He's a fast little guy though, when they get too close for comfort, he just takes off! I went out for the night (to see the Simpsons movie and a little late night date :-*) and I came back to see him swimming around, happy as a clam! haha So we'll see.

And oh yeah, I've named him Ace.

I'm not so sure about him being alive. Two nights ago I saw him for a brief second.... but as of today I have no evidence he is dead or alive!!!

I voted he'd be fine. have you tried catching a ghost shrimp! they are super fast critters and the fish you have are all peaceful and won't be nr the bottom of the tank anyway except the cories who won't bother anyone! let us know if you've found him. maybe he's gone into hiding to shed his coat. they can disappear for a few days while they do this. don't be alarmed if you see his casing floating around the tank, he's prob hiding in a plant somewhere!

I'm still keeping an eye for him. Last time I saw him was two nights ago.

Does anyone know if they are nocturnal?

they're supposed to be, I think and I do believe they'll feel more comfortable moving around when it's dark.

We just bought some ghost shrimps yesterday, and we have hope that it'll go OK, but we'll see. No sign of them this morning, but these guys are soooo good at hiding.

yea, I find our shrimp's fav. hiding spot in the platy tank is inside the anemone decoration.. with the marbles substrata, they can get up inside it easy enough.

I don't know... :'(

I ordered a little tiny night LED light.. so maybe I'll see him at night!!

he could be inside a decoration too.. ours hide inside the base of the anemone so you'd never know we had shrimp in there except when I clean the tank and take everything out. I have to be sure they're all out first too.

mine aren't nocturnal. they come out whenever food goes in the tank...not all at once, but a few will and will "swim" up the plants to grab it!!

that's how ours are, but they've learned now that I'll put a piece of wafer under the anemone rock so we don't see them unless i'm cleaning the tank.
