I have a golden wonder killI that is around 2 inches, the guy at my lfs said zebra danios would be ok with him so I got 6 of them, but after more research I am hearing mixed things, some people say the killI will eat the danios some say they wont. They zebras around about an 1 inch big. What are your opinions?

I guess I'm not really sure-but I am having a hard time imagining a 2 inch fish swallowing a 1 inch fish-lol.

Upon researching more-it ma not be able to actually eat them, but will try very hard to. Possibly stressing them to death?

Hmm, does seem that winder killis can be a bit predatory. Of course, fish can have different personalities; since you have them already I suppose it'd be best to observe them carefully. If the killI shows signs of aggression, perhaps you could try to break up the tank with some plant/decor barriers or hiding place? From what I've seen, golden wonders max out around 4" and zebras can get close to 3", so I don't think they'll be eaten... fry, on the other hand...

Golden wonders will indeed eat other fish given the opportunity but I wouldn't expect one to actually eat a full grown zebra danio. Maybe if it was a full grown killI and a very young zebra. They usually aren't much of a threat to anything much bigger than a neon tetra give or take

If it can be shoved onto their mouths, they'll eat it. The only fish that are safe from GWs are fish that never leave the bottom, or fish that more than 1/2 the length they are (and even then, stuff happens).

Keeping everyone well fed, and the surface full of plants (to block the line of sight and provide a quick hide away) will help reduce the risk of anyone getting munched on.

Plants at the top on the surface and some structure on the bottom should increase the life span of the danios. You may want to get a large 2-3" female livebearer to provide some food and distraction.
GW Killies are fin nippers, so anything including the danios is going to get stressed. If you get a few giant danios they should hang with the zebras and discourge the killie.

OK thanks for the help everyone. The killI seemed interested in them while I was floating the bag, but once I let them out he never seemed to try anything, he didn't even nip a fin when one swam past him. There are some places to hid at the bottom, but I am planning on adding more. Also I was thinking of getting some giant danios, but I didn't know if they would school or not. Do I need to get a whole other school of giant danios?
