Will Giant Danios from different places join a shoal?

I have a 40 gallon tank that is well established. I stocked it with:

4 giant danios (~4 in)
1 pleco (~7 in)
1 red tailed shark (~ 4 in)
1 dwarf blue gourami

Everything has been fine, though I felt bad keeping less than 5 giant danios (online says to keep at least 5, but the store I bought them from only had 4 so I figured they'd be fine).

But I just lost one giant danio 2 weeks ago, though I don't know why. Everything seems fine in the tank.

What I was wondering was- If I introduce 2 new giant danios into the tank, will they join the other 3 in a shoal?

Please let me know.

Yes they will.

You don't want to mix asian ones with american ones, cause all they will do is swim around chasing one another. You can tell the difference by how they swim - asian danios move their tails left to right, while american danios move their tails right to left.
