Will Excel Cause Certain Plants To Melt?

I have 5 planted tanks (and an unplanted quarantine). I have a mixed bundle of plants and regularly use flourish comp and was using excel in combination with this until recently.

I've noticed my marimo moss balls, and java moss browning lately in a couple of the tanks I had just started redosing excel in due to patches of the dreaded blackbeard. Could it be the excel doing it?
I've read it can cause jungle val to melt too.. I'm weary of using it in the tanks I have val, moss balls and java moss in.

Excel is known to kill algae, which moss ball is an algae. Likewise, its been known to cause damage to val leaves. As for java moss, it may be related but in most instances it shouldn't harm the java moss.

I'd suggest trying H2O2, its a lot easier on your plants vut still equally damaging to algae.

Where I can I remove leaves, or take the entire plant out and peroxide it. I don't have much. Just enough to annoy. So I have an almost full bottle of excel I can't use I have val in 3 of my tanks, moss balls in one of those. One of my tanks has amano shrimp in which keep it under control

I have had bad luck using Excel in tanks where I have vals. They either melt completely or struggle to survive.

Save it for your NEXT fish tank -- you know, the new one? Without vals?

I have 6 tanks running already 2 x 55g, 40gb, 20gt, 10 gallon qt 3.5g temp betta studio apartment lol. If hubby would let me have another, it would be a 150 gallon flowerhorn tank no plants!

you could say that yes.. I also have 'I need a bigger house so I can get bigger fishtanks' syndrome too.

Edit ; I breed Angel's, so, I'd also want at least 3 more 40gb, and a 200 gallon grow out... I'm not cheap ahaha

I dream of building a small addition onto our home. My wife was suggesting it be a sewing room/ study. Okay. Then she wisely hinted it would give me more fish room. All right! Consider me on board! LOL!

Wow. You are ambitious! Love angels, but have never kept any. Sounds interesting!

I would like to turn my entire basement into a fishroom... but that would mean removing the weight bench, pool table... you see where I'm heading lol. I h.g ave 1 55 gallon growout down there... argh I just need a bigger house! I jokingly told my daughter that she had to move into her sister's bedroom cos I needed a fish room and hers is the biggest room... she wasn't impressed at all.. then a week ago I took all her make up, put it on her bed then put a betta on her dresser and informed her the fish were taking over!

Well, I've already made back the money I spent out for the 40gb, inc. Filter, hood, light, gravel, stand etc by selling my babies from the grow out... in about 6 months.. I just told him if I could get more exotic looking ones, I could get more for them and more people would be interested, and I'd have more room to grow them bigger etc... he just said as long as I don't end up having to clean them! Haha he loves them really I think. My female is on my profile pic. A rescue dumped on my doorstep with haemorragic septacemia. Floated like a leaf on the top of my tank for days.. poor girl.. then she saw my black marble and went ooo la la and the rest is history lol

I've only heard vals don't like Excel. My java moss and marino moss balls are doing fine with Excel. My java moss is actually doing much better now.
