Will Amano baby survive?

SuperBobbyDaz

Hi Everyone.

have 3 Amanos in my freshwater tank with one berried. The tank has a bristlenose plec, guppies and neon tetras.

Went to do a water change today and spotted a tiny baby shrimp in the plants. Have attached a picture.

From what I have read I didn’t think that the Amano fry would get to this size in freshwater?

Anyone think this will survive?

This is a young female Neocaridina zhangiajiensis var. Snowball.

Thank you Rudd.

Ok. Now I am properly confused.

I don’t have any snowball in the tank, and can’t see how a baby would have got in there.

Will keep an eye on it and see what we get!

Yes, please do keep us/me posted. Perhaps any plants recently added (that housed a tiny shrimplet)?

Hi Everyone, and I think the mystery is solved!

One crucial bit of info I forgot to mention in the original thread is that we have got a few RCS in this tank. The local pet store was convinced this is a RCS baby, which don’t colour for a few weeks until after hatching.

Took a closer look over the past few days and counted 2, no 3, no 4, nope 5 of the little critters squirreling around.

Have popped some Java moss in, and now they have there own little hangout.
