Will adding Omega One Veggie Rounds to algae rock "farm" help?

I placed some smooth river stones in a glass bowl full of tank water and set it out in the sun. It's covered with plastic wrap. I have some Omega One Veggie Rounds and I put two rounds in. I am hoping that the algae in the rounds will stimulate new algae growth and also provide a source of ammonia. Will this work? Have I set up the "farm" correctly? No I don't have a spare tank or equipment.

 

I don't think that algae wafers are actual algae..like true algae. Like McDonald's isn't real food, although it is food

 

Its not a regular algae wafer. Its top 3 ingredients are very good. It contains whole kelp and spirulina.

 

In dried and dead form, not that it is bad for fish. It will help raise ammonia and nitrite levels but for actual algae growth...I wouldn't even waste them. Put the tank in sun light

Okies. All I do now is wait then I guess.

 

It worked. I've got some nice bright green algae growing in that brown mucky water. Yuck! lol. I couldn't wait any more for it to completely stick to all the rocks because my Oto Cat is barely picking at whatever I give him. So I scooped out a rock and literally seconds later he glued himself to it and stayed for hours. So happy lol. Not much algae on it but I'm delighted to see him so excited. I wish his brother Spock couldve lived long enough to enjoy some too . He's all alone now, there seems to be a shortage of Oto cats in my area. No one has them.



So adding the Omega one veggie round, definitely helped my algae farm grow faster.
