Will adding more substrate destroy the cycle?

I have a 7 gallon tank that I added seachem flourite substrate to 4 months ago. I didn't add a lot. The tank is cycled, however the substrate isn't deep enough to anchor the plants completely and sometimes the roots pop out. I wanted to add more seachem flourite to make the tank look more nice however I am worried it may leech out ammonia and kill the fish.

What should I do?

What would leech out ammonia? Just rinse the flourite good before adding to your tank and you will be fine.

Adding substrate won't effect your cycle, no. Substrate really has nothing to do with the cycle.

Ammonia leaching out of an organic substrate might harm your fish, but it will help build a bigger/stronger bacteria colony over time. If you're adding something that could leach ammonia, just keep your eyes on it and do water changes as necessary.

It will not effect your cycle but IMO substrate is surface and cycling bacteria live in surface area. The more surface area the more cycling bacteria. So yes substrate helps with the cycle.
