My attempt to get the whole tank.
The white thing on the filter is my diy filter baffle lol. So ignore that.

You probably have, but just in case there's a chance you have not, have you tried to fit one of these guys over your intake?

I have an AQ70 and it takes some "doing", but I get it on there

Ive been really thinking about it. I just read somewhere tho that it might run the motor in the filter harder is that true?

And yea I have the aqueon 75 so I'm sure it would be about the same size right?

I'm not sure.
I mean, I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but the sponge doesn't seem dense enough to really cause a loss of suction.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that it def requires weekly maintenance.

It gets plec-poo, a little bit of sand, and the random bits of food on occasion.

The plec occasionally makes a buffet out of what's on there, but it def still needs a weekly rinse.

I put a generic media bag over it while the filter is running, then just remove the sponge from the intake and swish it In a little tank water in a cup.

The bag keeps all the "stuff" from getting recirculated back into the water.

Ok. If it doesn't really seem to be taking a toll on the filter I definitely want to try it. I'm using a breeder net zipped tied lol. And its getting pretty nasty haha. Gotta clean it soon.

Lol I mean it works. Its just the biggest eye sore hahha. I'm doin it for the shrimp!

It looks nice, just a recommendation from me, I would of stuck it vertically on a slight angle in the middle slanting towards the side. Glue some flame moss to it or a petite nana and it'll look awesome!

It still looks very nice though, very natural I like it a lot.

Cool thank you and are those low light plants?

I'm learning that Java moss will grow and is totally content in low light, too.

I just made a "moss wall" that I can't wait to fill in!!

Pics!! Lol. I just have my java moss clumped on one side of the tank. And idk if I can ask this here or make a new thread but what does a molting ghost shrimp look like. Do they turn a reddish color?

It's a WIP, so it's rather sparse, but eventually it will fill in
(I'm feeding it SeaChem Flourish)

My tank is right near the tv,so I thought a moss wall might help remove some of the ambient light (and the associated constant changes in light from the tv)

^this was immediately after I stitched it together and positioned it in there.
Maybe a 1.5 weeks ago (?), and today I noticed a lot of shoots sticking thru compared to this pic

That's going to look great when it starts to fill it!

My tank is also near my tv so maybe this should be my next project lol.

It was really easy!!
I stitched it together very well, but it wouldn't be hard to redo it if I needed to.
I just used fishing line to stitch it along the outside and I made two horizontal stitching passes, cutting the whole thing into thirds, so to speak
I'm happy with how "neatly" it went, bc that would drive my OCD even nuttier if it was all sloppy
