My mom put a net on her blackberry bush this year so she can eat some of them. Well, today, a robin had got stuck between the bush and the net, but my mom said she got it free!

Sofiafish17

Good that she got it out. These berries aren’t edible to humans so they can have all they want lol. Since birds can’t taste spices but mammals can, we got hot spicy pepper bird seed for our feeder. Every once in a while I would see a squirrel take some, and I guess they built up a tolerance. I guess they started to like spicy food and just took the whole food block off my feeder and dragged it away! Little stinkers.
I don’t use that feeder anymore, I have a clear window one on my second story bedroom window so that feeder is safe.

Must be big bug week at work.

Watched a fox acting pretty playful before i left for work. Seem very unconcerned i was talking with a neighbor barely 25-30 feet from it.

Looks like a Japanese Beetle... harmless to you and your beard, but can be a real pest in the garden. Apparently, they have plenty of predators in Japan, but not many here. This one was in my garden, I seem to find more every year. :/

Haven't seen many this year, but have seen that color often. Maybe more in the States than over there?

They’re smart. Figured you were a big pushover and no threat. :D

They’re supposed to be common here but we see more red than yellow ones.

We think a fox is trying to set up home in my daughter & son in laws garden.

Hate to tell you this, but those green ones aren’t ladybirds, but are usually a type of cucumber beetle which will damage plants.

Coradee

Hi, it was bright yellow not green, the pic doesn’t show it too clearly & on looking it up looks like a 14 spot ladybird thankfully & there’s no damage on any of the plants :)

Oh good! Yellow is fine, just not chartreuse green.

kallililly1973

Couple praying mantis around my yard. Not sure if they are the same one. Top pic is about the size of 3 blades of grass and the one on the screen was considerably bigger a couple weeks later.

That's cuz it wasn't human. I like the animal neighbors! The stray cats haven't figured that out yet, though....otherwise i am sure my wife would adopt them all!

This was Monday’s fishing trip. They were delicious.

Ouse

Here are some lichens on my window ledge. Lichens are made up of several organisms such as fungi and algae, which share a symbiotic relationship in order to survive. Lichens occur worldwide and are most common in tundra biomes, where they outnumber plants. Despite this, there are lichens on my window ledge in weather that'll be 30⁰C later.

If you can guess where I live judging by the configuration of lichens, please, don't stalk me:

Most bluejays I see are at first and last light. Not conducive to taking pictures at all. This one showed himself during the day but still had to hide a bit.

Good news, the exterminator was at work today and took care of this nest! The bad news: it was 1 of 4 nests....

Monitors have a bacteria in their saliva which is what kills someone if their bitten I believe.
Or will cause you a whole lota hurt.

This little rocket just flew itself into mom's doctor's office's metal roof. The little one is alright, took some time to regain its barings but eventually climbed up my arm and then flew off. A bit unsteady, but it stayed airborne.
