New Big male currently in conditioning ready for another spawn however just a little beaten from his fighting in the wild but he'll heal in a month or so. Bigger males are harder to spawn due to the size different from a female so I need to do some scooping tomorrow to find a suitable size female to pair with him to avoid any chance of him killing her.

Oh please if you know anything about water fleas please check out this video for me and tell me if these are Daphnia or not, a culture has bloomed in one of my unused spawn tub as they must have came with some water lettuce I put in a month or so ago.

those fins are wonderful.

Yeah I've noticed and love that with wilds that their Anal/ventral fins are so perfectly shaped if you know what I mean, Nothing gets me more happier than catching a wild and bringing it home and seeing him flare up the day after and see that his Caudal and ventrals are in such good shapes Saves me a lot of time conditioning him back to full quality!

My next goal is to find a location where a spade tail Smaragdina is found as they're so rare and will only have in special areas.

Another trip out in the wild to catch some more specimens for breeding, Rain season has started so this might possibly be my last trip out for the year as the grasslands will be flooded and fish will be harder to find.

On this trip these fish must have had a war or some sort because they were beaten up soo badly so they're all in their little medical jars with almond extract to help heal their scars.

*RARE CORNSCALE!*
Cornscales as we like to call them here in thailand are betta's who have scales that resemblance a nice corn like pattern, they tend to be more nicer to look at as their scales are neatly together and are more rare to find, The is the 2nd one I caught in this location so it was nice this morning to see that I caught one.

Don't mean to sound demanding, but can we have an update on the babies? How is everyone doing? Was your daddy fish a good dad who didn't eat all his children like mine always did?

Great thread! I really love the green guy.

When I was a teenager I bred and raised Betas in my basement - ain't too easy.
50 years later I don't have the patience to do so again.

Keep the pics commin'

Sorry I've not been updating this thread lately but I've been a little busy so here's a peak at what I'm currently doing.

I am currently in the process of breeding a new pair of Betta Imbellis to hopefully sell in the next 5-6 months when they're all at a good size here is the pair I picked up.

New wild caught betta Smaragdina Male, Tail is in healing process and should be back to normal within 1 month.

I will take some photos but it's a little hard to get a good shot of them due to them being in outdoor ponds for grow out but I'll try scoop a few and put them in a glass tank for a few pictures
