I plan on getting a betta mahachaI I read somewhere that they are not as aggressive as male domestic betta. So could I keep a male betta mahachaI with a regular female splenden or would that be a bad idea?
But they are different species why would he breed. Thank you for the reply I will just buy another tank.I wouldn't recommend it. Less aggressive is still agressive, plus he would likely chase her constantly trying to breed.
oh ok thank you for the reply. I will just buy a 20 gallon for a pair thenEven if they are of different species they still can interbreed. Most of the current betta splendens are a result of interbreeding wild types to get various colourations. It is possible to keep a mahachaI pair together if the tank is large enough and has a lot of hiding places.
