Why Won’t My Bacopa Take Off?

I bought a bundle of bacopa for a background plant in my 55 gallon. Everyone said they were one of the easiest plants to grow and would take off in no time.
Instead, half of the sprigs have died already, and the remaining ones won’t really root down or grow. The leaves keep turning brown and melting off of them from the bottom of the plant to the top, and then the stems turn to mush and die.
I don’t know why this might be happening? They have light, co2, fertilisers, and good water parameters other then a high ph if that has anything to do with it.
Another thing I read is that they don’t like warm water and they are planted near my heater so I’m wondering if maybe that has something to do with it?
    Any suggestions??

What kind of substrate, lighting, and fertilizers do you use? What's the temp of the tank? Are you injecting CO2?

    What species of Bacopa?
