Actually, I have found fish do watch TV.
The movement and color attract their attention.
I would assume, to them, it is like seeing something in the distance that could be a possible threat or mate, so they watch, to see if it comes any closer.

My husband has sat next to the tank and watched baseball with my betta. All the while giving her a play by play. lol

My 55 is near the tv in the living room. I always thinks its so funny to watch the Angel fish and the Discus at that end of the tank. They do indeed watch tv. I think they are attracted to the bright colors/lights and possibly wondering if the folks they see in the tv will come by and feed them lol..
Now the JD juvies in the 29 are in the same room on another wall, and I think its so funny to watch them at times, at the end of their tank, not watching tv, but watching the inhabitants in the 55 swim around.
Our fish are pretty smart eh? lol...

My huge pleco is weird... he won't even look at the tv.
I think my little pleco Mr. Sticky would enjoy it though. He's always amused by my cat and the birds

none of my fish watch tv. I do have an Angelfish that will just stare at me all day. He has not interest in me, but just always wants fed. He never stops eating.

I have my betta tank right next to my computer, and anytime I'm watching a video or playing game, he just stares at the screen with me.
