Why Is My Red Tail Shark So Aggro??

Hello ! My three year old gold fish is temporarily in my red tail shark tank until my pond has been renovated. My r.t.s has never been so aggressive!! Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

They're normally really aggressive towards fish the same size and smaller

Yes they can be aggressive and it can be especially difficult to add a new fish to a tank occupied by an RTS. He's not happy about the intruder in his territory. I think you'll need to find temporary alternative accommodation for one of them.

In the wild some fish species need to control a territory in order to have enough food available to survive, so the behaviour in that case would be completely understandable.
