Why does picking an ich treatment have to be so hard?

Need to treat a 75g SA cichlid tank for ich yesterday. Can't salt due to cories. Ich-X seemed to have the best reviews until I saw not to use it with Prime or Stressguard, which is all I use. Have temp raised to 87 and started Paraguard, but not impressed by the reviews of not working on ich or taking 4+ weeks. Don't want to mess with Cupramine. Only have Sulfaplex and Paraguard on hand. Should I try Polyguard? Something else? Any experience appreciated.

I wonder what the issue is with Ich-X. I've always used Prime and have used formalin & malachite green meds without any problems. Anyway rather than use a less effective med like Paraguard so that you can continue to use Prime I would be inclined to switch water conditioners temporarily because resolving the Ich issue is the priority.

Why don’t you use api general cure? It’s usually pretty cheap at most fish stores.

Studies have found metronidazole effective against ich...but only when ingested.

Im just finishing my ich-x treatment. Have been doing daily gravel vac + water changes using prime and haven't had a problem and thankfully did not loose any fish.
