Why are here hinges on this hood?

Hello,

My new hood is different from my other tank instead it has a litlle door for food and on the back where filter goes there are these hinges srcking out. What are they for?

My dad just took the camera to work with him but I will whenever he gives it back.

Is there a brand name or model/part number anywhere on the hood where we can look up pictures online and see if we can answer your question?

I'm sorry, Just got the camera back yesterday. Here you go.

sorry one pic is so blurry but maybe you can see the side a little, Not sure I am properly calling it a hinge

There are two peices that are supposed to slide onto the lip on the back of the tank (on the right side and left side).
The hinge peices on the hood fit onto the ones on the tank. There should be plastics pins that slide through to hold them together. That way you can lift the front of the hood without having to take the whole thing off.

Oh, That makes sense! I guess they are missing. Do you know if its possible to get the missing parts or would I have to buy another complete hood?

Sorry, I don't know. I have a different tank than you and mine cracked a while ago. I haven't looked for replacements.
