Who Says Nerites Have No Personality?

Like said above, people always recommend mystery’s over nerites for their personality, but this isn’t true, IMO. Here’s some things my nerites have done:
Ate an entire spinach leaf meant to my mystery.
Ate an entire zucchinI slice meant for my mystery.
Rode on the trapdoor of my mystery snail when he went to get some air (this just happened, I got some pictures if anyone wants to see it)
Disappeared for a week and then showed up chilling on the tank wall.
Got stuck on my floating betta log (many times).
Gliding on the glass with the little ‘teeth’ churning.
Rode on my mystery’s shell.

Also, sorry if this didn’t make since, it’s late and I’m so tired

My horned nerites(Raiju and Kaiju) were playing follow the leader.

 

I haven't had good luck with nerites, the store I got them from treated them badly and one I got was just an empty shell and the other was dead, but snails have the most vibrant personalities of any aquarium pets I think ^-^

 

I discovered yesterday that both my snails, a magenta Mystery and a zebra Nerite love spinach. I put 2 pieces of a blanched leaf in and first the Mystery completely devoured the biggest piece. The Nerite wasn't moving around. After the light went out, which is when the Nerite cruises around the most, I shone a small flashlight into the tank and there was the Nerite, on his back with the spinach piece sticking straight up and shaking as it was being munched on. Yes, he was lying upside down while eating it. In the morning, both pieces were completely gone. It's the first time the Nerite has shown any interest in anything I put in for them including Pleco wafer.

I wouldn't go that far but they are interesting to watch, especially Mysteries. I got my Nerite at PetSmart. He was the smallest Zebra but also the one that was the most active. I won't buy a snail that isn't moving around.

Agreed. They have to be on the wall for me. My first two were on the ground, and my other two were on the wall. My second are remarkably more active.

My Nerite was on the bottom but I watched him crawl over the top of a bigger one and decided he was the one I wanted. They do get hard to find in your tank sometimes though.

 

My little sister likes to go on ‘scavenger hunts’ and try to find them.

 

Of course we would love to see pics! I personally love both the mysteries and the nerites... actually, just about all snails when it really comes down to it. My nerites are always a surprise since their tanks are heavily planted, I'll see one and be like, ooh, I forgot about that guy since I haven't seen him in three months, lol.

 

One of my nerites layed like 20 eggs on another one of my nerites. It’s like a tight pack of eggs in the nerite’s shell.

 

It’s hard to see but he is sitting on his trapdoor.
